About The Position

Medical Office Assistants perform clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training and experience. They work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice, providing clerical support and assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities. The Medical Office Assistant performs duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice. This position will float between various OSF office locations throughout Peoria and the surrounding communities based on operational needs. In recognition of the flexibility required for this role, the position is eligible for an additional $0.75 per hour above the base hourly rate. Candidates should be comfortable traveling between assigned office locations and adapting to the needs of different teams and clinics.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Minimum of six months’ experience with computer, Microsoft Office, and email.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ health care facility clinical experience.
  • OR Clinical education (including evidence of current enrollment or completion of OSF Medical Group Prime Path Bridge Program OR Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Some knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months’ experience as a medical office assistant (MOA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months’ experience with an electronic health record.
  • Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months experience as a medical assistant or CNA or equivalent
  • Minimum of six months experience with an electronic health record.
