About The Position

The Medical Office Assistant will provide excellent customer service at our front desk operations and various support duties to our clinical team. The Office Assistant will work directly with healthcare practice staff to register and check-out all patients, collect samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures, and assist in the overall success of our day. Travel may be required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge working with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Office Assistant skills and minimum requirements
  • High School Graduate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and maintain punctual attendance.
  • Able to work under pressure, remain calm, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to relate to diverse communities.
  • Ability to work as part of an interdependent team.
  • Ability to remain open and non-judgmental towards colleagues and customers.

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Inventory management experience.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Register and/or check-out all patients for appointments.
  • Collect co-payments and/or account balances
  • Obtain updated demographics at each visit.
  • Record patient information in OmniMD.
  • Assist patients with obtaining MRI prior approvals.
  • Assist patients with obtaining prior authorizations for medications.
  • Assist patients with necessary forms at check-in or check-out.
  • Work in the front office taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls, greeting patients as they enter office, and maintaining patient records.
  • Assist the nurse and office manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
  • Always practices good customer services in all situations.
  • Occasional travel between offices is required for cross coverage of our patient locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
