Medical Librarian
About The Position
The Medical Librarian is responsible for planning, implementation, management and evaluation of all library services, including strategic planning, budgeting, collection development and reference and instructional services. The incumbent in this position provides professional quality management of knowledge-based health care information resources and efficient library services to the hospital administrators, physicians, residents, students and employees. Coordinates the overall activities in the area of access to knowledge-based health care information in the hospital as a member of the information management team. Provides support to the Research Team.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Library Sciences from an ALA accredited school
- Two (2) years of experience in medical and health sciences libraries
Nice To Haves
- Membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Expert level knowledge of literature searching in OVID, Pubmed, Embase, CINAHL, Clinical Key, Clinical Key for Nursing, Docline, Linkout, Micromedex, Lexicomp, and OCLC.
- Prior experience teaching medical online resources to residents, nursing and allied health staff
