About The Position

The Medical Lead CEE+ drives the implementation of regional medical affairs plans related to KOL engagement, scientific data generation, and data communication for assigned medicinal products and cross-functional projects. This role involves leading regional medical affairs planning and execution, serving as an interface to global functions, and advising country Medical Science Managers (MSMs). The position requires partnering with internal and external stakeholders to align planning, budget, and operations, and may involve supporting projects and deputizing for other team members. Key responsibilities include leading KOL engagement mapping and execution, coordinating scientific support for studies, and leading congress and event-based activities. The role also involves leading evidence generation projects, contributing to clinical research programs, and leading compliant data communication according to publication and medical affairs plans. The Medical Lead will foster scientific exchange with HCPs, present clinical and disease-related information, and may respond to unsolicited medical inquiries. Additionally, the role requires maintaining knowledge of disease areas and products, providing scientific input, and coordinating medical insights.

Requirements

  • University Degree level education in a medical-science background or other, related and relevant discipline.
  • In-depth therapeutic competency and expertise of the leading science in designated disease state.
  • Medical and Scientific excellence.
  • Demonstrated scientific/medical reading, presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience in both pre-launch and launch activities.
  • Existing strong engagement with KOL network in local country and/or internationally and proven ability to exchange scientific ideas and information effectively with KOLs and other HCPs.
  • Excellent presentation skills of scientific and medical data to small and large audiences.
  • Multi-stakeholder project management and leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of health system and healthcare decision making, including regulatory, safety, legal and compliance environment.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Focus on personal accountability and ownership – constantly challenging oneself to take responsibility for continuous performance improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional medical affairs planning and execution with respect to assigned Sobi medicinal/ medical device products and other programs, aligning and adapting Global guidance to regional and local specifics.
  • Serve as an interface to defined Sobi HQ functions including Global Medical, Global Clin Dev, Global PV and others as per guidance from Line Manager.
  • Advise and support country MSMs in medical plan execution, regional alignment, prioritization changes on the ongoing basis, coordinating with other CEE regional team members in case of MSM responsibilities outside assigned TA assets.
  • Partner with Sobi CEE country managers, CEERJ Commercial Strategy and CEERJ Finance & HR internally, and commercial partner organizations externally to drive planning, budget and operations alignment on strategic level.
  • Participate in internal project teams according to assignment by Line Manager.
  • On interim basis, support projects and deputize selected CEE regional medical team members or country MSMs in case of staff rotations or other absence as advised by the Line Manager.
  • Through compliant scientific exchange, build and maintain professional relationships with external stakeholders to expand Sobi’s research, advisory and educational partnership opportunities as per guidance from line manager.
  • Ensure high standard of professionalism to develop and maintain “peer-to-peer” collaboration with key opinion leaders in healthcare, academia, payer, and government organizations per strategic territory plans and as requested by KOLs, including the management of strategic scientific partnerships and scientific exchange.
  • Coordinate scientific support to Investigators currently involved in the Sobi’s studies (company sponsored interventional or non-interventional studies and investigator initiated studies).
  • Lead KOL engagement mapping, planning and execution with relevant maintenance in customer relationship management system (CRM) in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
  • Lead Congress and other event based activities on regional level with respect to KOL engagement and follow up.
  • Lead defined evidence generation projects in the region (clinical surveys, digital data collection, investigator initiated research process) and contribute to coordination of Sobi’s clinical research programs and/or registries on level of the region or locally.
  • Lead effective and compliant data communication according to regional publication plan and regional medical affairs plan.
  • Ensure appropriate scientific exchange with HCPs by fostering fair and balanced medical communications that are not misleading.
  • Present and coordinate sharing of clinical and disease-related information to a variety of audiences (KOLs, HCPs, hospital/decision making teams, etc.) upon requests and/or according to medical needs.
  • May be involved in responding, within defined timelines and quality standards, to unsolicited medical inquiries from HCPs and other stakeholders received by Medical Affairs and referred to MA by other Sobi functions.
  • Conduct therapeutic training for Sales and Medical colleagues upon request.
  • Maintain knowledge base and scientific expertise on assigned Sobi´s disease areas and products.
  • Provide scientific input in local, regional and global medical and cross-functional projects in agreement with Line Manager.
  • Maintain awareness of and access to internal and external information sources available to support high-quality scientific exchange with HCP.
  • Lead training of defined internal stakeholder groups and knowledge sharing on the basis of emerging data in publications and congresses of assigned medicinal therapeutic area.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable pharmaceutical guidelines and regulations, Code of Ethical Practices and company policies.
  • Coordinate and support key medical insights from KOLs/HCPs externally and affiliates internally and integrate into regional internal and external medical communication, strategies and tactics.
