Medical Laboratory Technologist
About The Position
A small community hospital located just outside of La Crosse, Wisconsin is seeking a full-time, permanent Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their team! This is a direct hire opportunity with a schedule of 7 days on and 7 days off, primarily Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, 8:00 pm – 7:00 am, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 pm – 6:30 am with rotating holidays. The role involves processing laboratory specimens and reporting results in all areas of the laboratory, maintaining quality control, laboratory records, and inventory. The technologist will perform patient specimen analysis for diagnostic purposes, participate in performance improvement activities, and adhere to laboratory and organization policies and procedures. Additionally, the role includes providing and educating on the theory behind laboratory testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, or clinical laboratory science with ASCP categorial certification.
Nice To Haves
- ASCP certification preferred
- Phlebotomy skills strongly preferred
- Clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred
