About The Position

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, and the most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle. The system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices. This role performs a full range of waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing; reports results. The technologist confirms test results’ accuracy and precision and reports laboratory findings to the pathologist and other physicians on a timely basis. They utilize a complete understanding of testing procedures and theoretical knowledge to interpret results and troubleshoot problems encountered during testing.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (or equivalent) in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 483 (Health Testing Services), Part I (Clinical Laboratory Personnel) with added specialties in clinical chemistry, and/or hematology, and/or microbiology, and/or serology.
