As a Medical Laboratory Technologist at IDEXX, you will perform laboratory testing that aids veterinarians in diagnosing and treating pets. Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience working in a high-volume Clinical Laboratory handling patient samples.
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests.
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment such as microscopes, pipetting devices, and/or clinical diagnostic analyzers.
  • Positive attitude and energy to support colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Attention to detail, ability to work reliably and precisely.
  • Strong sense of team spirit and responsibility.
  • Able to meet physical requirements including standing and sitting for extended periods, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision abilities (close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus).
  • Potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in a Science-related field.
  • Experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT).
  • Experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT).

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing using automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic tools to diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases in support of veterinarian treatment.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples.
  • Set up and run laboratory tests, then read and release results according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Specialize in an assigned department within the reference laboratory.
