About The Position

We’re looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Histology-IHC team in Brampton, Ontario. You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference – the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

Requirements

• You thrive independently, applying sound decision making principles and ability to self-manage in fast-paced environment
• You bring a high level of interpersonal skills and you are a natural fit within a collaborative working environment
• Carry a CMLTO Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing
• Experience in IHC and Histology or equivalent
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level
• Knowledgeable about Immunohistochemistry theory and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality laboratory services in a timely manner
• Perform all aspects of Histology, including grossing specimens, embedding, microtomy, routine and special staining
• Ensure sample identification is correct and specimen requirements meet established procedures
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accuracy of documentation
• Ensure quality control standards and perform routine maintenance on lab equipment
