Medical Laboratory Technologist
About The Position
Dynacare is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join their Hematology & Chemistry team in Kelowna, British Columbia. The role involves delivering high-quality clinical and scientific testing using the latest technology in a timely manner. The contributions of this role are critical, as the results and reports provided to physicians significantly impact downstream solutions and treatments essential for saving lives. This is a permanent full-time position with rotational shifts from Monday to Thursday between 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The work style is onsite.
Requirements
- Ability to thrive independently, applying sound decision making principles and ability to self-manage in fast-paced environment
- High level of interpersonal skills and ability to fit within a collaborative working environment
- CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing
- Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level
- Solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution

Responsibilities
- Ensuring sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
- Ensuring quality control standards are maintained, investigating missing samples and performing routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Recording, interpreting and/or approving test results.
- Maintaining accuracy of appropriate documents
- Troubleshooting of clinical assays and equipment
- Identifying and reporting of incidents and non-conformities
