Performs routine and highly complex laboratory analyses on clinical specimens in various sections of the laboratory under supervision. This role involves performing a variety of routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality clinical information, verifying analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and linearity for test methods. The technician will operate, calibrate, check and maintain instrumentation, and recognize and address problems with quality control and test procedures to ensure quality clinical information. Participation in programs to stay updated with current and changing technologies is expected. The role may also involve collecting and processing patient specimens, maintaining the cleanliness of the work area, and ensuring adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations. Additionally, there may be opportunities to mentor students and new employees in laboratory testing.
