As a Laboratory Technician at IDEXX, you will perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets. In this role, you will be working in the Sample Processing Department, organizing samples, ensuring that all tests are accessioned into our computer system and accounted for. You will be working in a high volume, fast-paced environment. You will set up and run lab tests, then read and release results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). You can expect to specialize in an assigned department.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work with animal specimen samples of all kinds-blood, urine, fecal samples, surgical biopsy samples and more
  • Positive attitude and energy to support colleagues
  • Looking forward to working in a team
  • Concentrate on the details and can work reliably and precisely
  • Great sense of team spirit and responsibility
  • Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab – standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability – close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Awareness of potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals

Nice To Haves

  • A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred
