About The Position

MN Urology is hiring a Full Time Medical Laboratory Technician. Minnesota Urology is the largest independent urologic specialty practice in the state of Minnesota and was formed as an integration of Minnesota's two most respected independent urology practices; Minnesota Urology and Urology Associates. Our providers are devoted to a singular vision to deliver optimal and compassionate specialty care. Our success and recognition as a national leader in the practice of urology is a direct result of the collective work of dedicated staff members and physicians. Performs all in-house laboratory testing as well as preparing samples for reference lab testing. Perform phlebotomy, specimen processing, urinalysis, urine microscopy, chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, microbiology as well as some manual testing. Responsible for instrument maintenance, quality control as well as quality assurance. Ensures compliance with all Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendments (CLIA) and Federal guidelines. Performs and helps coordinate all in-house and external laboratory testing. The work location will be at our Woodbury, MN office. Required to work on a weekend rotation and a rotating holiday schedule.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an AMA approved technical program or an associate/bachelors degree in a biological science
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) certification or Medical Technologist (ASCP) certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Three to Five years of experience in laboratory techniques
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) products such as Orchard and UroChart
