About The Position

Perform advanced diagnostic testing and services with complex analysis and interpretation of data; responsible for daily laboratory operational functions to include the functionality of the Laboratory Information System; draws blood from patients, and prepares specimens for screening, analysis, or other medical purposes.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, physical chemical, or biological science.
• Clinical Experience required.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) program that has received accreditation from the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
• Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP.

Nice To Haves

• National certification in MLT or MLS (e.g. ASCP, AMT).

Responsibilities

• Advanced laboratory techniques.
• Perform quality control on test results, ensuring validity and accuracy.
• Perform calibration and troubleshooting on testing systems and instruments to ensure adherence to established standards of accuracy.
• Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, as well as students.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Participate in performance-related goal setting and achievement to meet personal and organizational goals and objectives.
• Attend and participate in training and other personal professional development activities.
• Maintain records, complete laboratory forms, reports, and any additional documentation in the Laboratory, according to accreditation requirements.
• Restock inventory of laboratory supplies.
