About The Position

As a Veterinary Medical Laboratory Technician Processor at IDEXX, you will perform laboratory testing that aids veterinarians in diagnosing and treating pets. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Comfortable working with biological samples (blood, fecal, urine, etc.).
Ability to meet physical requirements: standing and sitting for extended periods, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb.
Specific vision ability required: close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Awareness of potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.
Positive attitude and energy.
Team-oriented mindset.
Attention to detail and ability to work reliably and precisely.
Strong sense of team spirit and responsibility.

Nice To Haves

2-, 3-, or 4-year degree in a Science-related field.
Experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT).
Experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT or MT).
Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests.
Experience operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, pipetting, clinical diagnostic analyzers).

Responsibilities

Processing incoming laboratory samples, including blood, fecal, urine, and other clinical pathology samples.
Handling high volumes of samples in a fast-paced department.
Utilizing automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests.
Diagnosing animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases to support veterinarian treatment.
Performing diagnostic tests on thousands of blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples daily.
Setting up, running, reading, and releasing lab test results according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Specializing in an assigned department.
