Requirements
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (or equivalent)
- Current ASCP certification (or equivalent)
- Valid West Virginia MLT license
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment and analyze results accurately
- Commitment to quality, safety, and patient care
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital laboratory experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Collect, label, process, and distribute specimens (venipuncture, finger stick, arterial draws)
- Perform laboratory testing across multiple disciplines including hematology, chemistry, blood bank, urinalysis, and more
- Conduct arterial blood gas collections and EKGs as needed
- Ensure quality control standards are met and maintained
- Troubleshoot test discrepancies and resolve equipment or procedural issues
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments
- Assist with inventory management and maintaining lab supplies
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of test results
- Support training and orientation of new staff and students
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed
