About The Position

Responsible for the operation of the Laboratory on the evening, night or weekend shifts. Conducts a variety of laboratory tests and duties according to established laboratory procedures, and in compliance with Cherokee Nation Policies and Procedures, Rural Health Guidelines and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA '88) and College of American Pathologist regulations, or any other applicable rules, regulations and guidelines while working under the supervision of a Laboratory Supervisor and/or Laboratory Director.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or two years (60 credit hours) coursework from a 4-year college or university in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or Microbiology; or three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years' experience.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Must be a registered Medical Laboratory Technician with the American Society of Clinical Pathologist or American Medical Technologists and maintain throughout employment.
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Must obtain CPR certification within six months of employment and maintain throughout the employment period.
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
