This is a casual position with varying hours. The role involves performing and reporting tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries. Responsibilities include exhibiting problem-solving skills, participating in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, specimen processing, and phlebotomy. The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) role also includes interpreting and correlating test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge, performing duties of a highly complex nature, and potentially participating in research, development, education, and technical consultation.
