About The Position

The medical laboratory technician performs generalist duties working all areas of the lab. This role performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures. The technician prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures, operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment, and performs quality control and assurance procedures. Additionally, the role involves recording lab results in the specified system and adhering to all required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
  • At least one year of clinical experience.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent.

  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous)
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous)
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous)
