About The Position
OmniSeq by Labcorp is seeking a licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist (CLS/MLS/MLT/CLT) to join our team in Buffalo, NY. This role offers a 1st shift, 4 x 10's work schedule with a day off to be determined. No previous molecular experience is necessary, as extensive hands-on training will be provided. We are offering the opportunity to work within a supportive, team-oriented, and engaging environment. Additionally, a $5,000 Sign-On BONUS is being offered (Active LabCorp employees are not eligible).
Requirements
- Associates or higher in Medical Laboratory Technology or related discipline
- Valid NYS professional license prior to starting
Nice To Haves
- No previous molecular experience necessary. Extensive hands-on training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Perform macrodissection on FFPE.
- Extract and quantify RNA and DNA using manual and automated processes.
- Prepare extracted RNA and DNA to be tested with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).
- Perform NGS testing using manual and automated processes.
- Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe, well stocked work environment in accordance with molecular standards and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems for tracking and documenting patient samples and processes.
- Other duties as needed.
