About The Position

OmniSeq by Labcorp is seeking a licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist (CLS/MLS/MLT/CLT) to join our team in Buffalo, NY. This role offers a 1st shift schedule, working 4 x 10-hour days with a to-be-determined day off. No previous molecular experience is necessary, as extensive hands-on training will be provided. The position is in a supportive, team-oriented, and engaging environment. A $5,000 Sign-On BONUS is being offered to eligible candidates (active LabCorp employees are not eligible).

Requirements

• Associates or higher in Medical Laboratory Technology or related discipline
• Valid NYS professional license prior to starting

Nice To Haves

• No previous molecular experience necessary. Extensive hands-on training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform macrodissection on FFPE.
• Extract and quantify RNA and DNA using manual and automated processes.
• Prepare extracted RNA and DNA to be tested with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).
• Perform NGS testing using manual and automated processes.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe, well stocked work environment in accordance with molecular standards and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems for tracking and documenting patient samples and processes.
• Other duties as needed.
