About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join their Float Team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a PRN (as needed) opportunity that requires flexibility to work at various Baptist Health locations, including up to two campuses and one free-standing Emergency Department. The Float Team is a dynamic group of professionals dedicated to making an impact in the world of laboratory science within a collaborative and patient-focused environment. Requirements

• Associate's Degree Required
• Licensed Medical Technologist Required
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required
• Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure rules.
• Eligible candidates must not have been employed with Baptist Health within the last 12 months.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician (2-3 years preferred)
• Experience working in a laboratory setting
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred
• Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
• Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
• Can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision.
• Can supervise MLTs as General Supervisor and serve as Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
• May instruct new employees and students.
