About The Position

This position is for a Medical Laboratory Scientist working night shifts. New graduates are welcome to apply. The role involves specimen integrity, laboratory operations, professional accountability, test procedures, quality control/documentation, and safety. Texas Health Southwest and Texas Health Clearfork operate as one hospital across two locations, serving the southwest Fort Worth area. The hospital is a 261-bed, full-service facility with specialties including surgical services, orthopedics, rehabilitation, imaging, and adult critical care. It also features a 24-hour emergency department and holds certifications as a Primary Heart Attack Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Trauma Center, Level III Maternal Center, and Level III Neonatal Center. The facility is nationally accredited for Breast care and Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement. Texas Health Southwest has achieved Magnet designation, a CMS 5-Star rating, recognition by U.S. News & World Report, and multiple STEMI/NSTEMI care awards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree for an MLS (or attained within 3 months of hire date)
Internship in an approved Medical Technician training program required
MLS (ASCP) Medical Lab Scientist required within 6 months after hire
MT (ASCP) Medical Technologist required within 6 months after hire
Other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology required within 6 months after hire
Or M(ASCP) - Microbiology if working in Microbiology required within 6 months after hire

Nice To Haves

Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred
2 years’ experience in a Medical Laboratory preferred
Previous experience in high-complexity Microbiology lab highly preferred
