About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs, interprets, and correlates clinical laboratory tests by following protocols to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating illness and disease. The role requires complex problem-solving to resolve clinical and instrument problems. The employee is expected to adopt H3W Leadership behaviors and serve as a strong H3W ambassador, while helping maintain a safe laboratory environment and meet accreditation standards by following established procedures and applicable requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in biology, including one semester in microbiology; these credits may be obtained within or in addition to the bachelor's degree.
16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in chemistry, including one semester in organic chemistry or biochemistry; these credits may be obtained within or in addition to the bachelor's degree.
Certified or eligible for categorical certification in medical technology by a recognized certifying body after one year of on-the-job experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening skills.
Good leadership abilities.
Ability to comply with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements by following established procedures.
