About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Laboratory Technician to work full time on the day shift in Microbiology. The role performs laboratory tests, interprets results, and documents and reports results. It also maintains department equipment, instruments, and tools. The position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for qualified candidates. The stated full-time base pay range is $37.13–$54.39 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility in Norfolk, Virginia, with the region’s only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit. It is the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School and includes a range of specialized services and facilities. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology, or chemical science.
- Certification from ASCP, AMT, or AAB.
