About The Position

The Medical Technologist is a clinical laboratory professional accountable for performing testing that supports patient care and diagnosis. The role is eligible for the laboratory career ladder and contributes to LMH Health’s mission and vision through accurate testing, quality practices, teamwork, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree as required by CLIA 88.
MT/MLS certification through ASCP or AMT, HEW qualification, or eligibility for one of these credentials.

Nice To Haves

New graduates eligible for ASCP certification should complete the registry within 6 months.
MLT (ASCP) bridge candidates should complete the registry within 1 year.

Responsibilities

Promote the vision and mission of Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Demonstrate punctuality, reliable attendance, flexibility in scheduling, independent judgment, initiative, professional conduct, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Acquire and update knowledge of policies, specimen collection, test procedures, and instrumentation.
Perform laboratory testing with the technical expertise needed to produce accurate and reliable results in applicable laboratory areas.
Perform patient, quality control, proficiency, and quality assurance testing, and complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
Assist with inventory control and research and development of new tests.
Participate in training and mentoring new employees and in hospital or departmental committees.
Take an active role in education and performance improvement activities.
