About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs, interprets, and correlates clinical laboratory tests according to established protocols to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating illness and disease. The role requires complex problem-solving to resolve clinical and instrument problems. The position is at Windham Community Memorial and is primarily first shift, with alternating weekends.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, with 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in biology, including one semester in microbiology, and 16 semester hours (24 quarter hours) in chemistry, including one semester in organic or biochemistry. These credits may be obtained within or in addition to the bachelor's degree.
Certified or eligible for categorical certification in medical technology by a recognized certifying body after one year of on-the-job experience.
Ability to adopt H3W Leadership behaviors and become a strong H3W ambassador.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal, written, and listening communication skills, and good leadership abilities.
Ability to comply with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements by following established procedures.
