About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Laboratory Technician to work part-time evenings in the core laboratory. The shift is 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Duties include performing laboratory tests, interpreting results, documenting and reporting results, and maintaining department equipment, instruments, and tools. A sign-on bonus of up to $8,000 is available for qualified candidates. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 525-bed tertiary care facility and the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School. It is home to the region’s only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit, as well as specialized services including heart and vascular care, neurosciences, oncology, advanced imaging, maternity, and women’s health. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology, or chemical science.
Certification from ASCP, AMT, or AAB.

Responsibilities
