About The Position

This is a temporary/PRN Part-Time (as needed) position (not benefits eligible) located at the UAMS Health Benton/Bryant location. The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is responsible for processing, evaluating and performing tests to identify microorganisms or antigens according to written procedures and performs susceptibilities. This person will also record and evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly QC in their assigned areas for further review by the supervisor. This position requires one to maintain safe work practices, follow all regulatory requirements and engage supervisor, manager, or director as appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Sciences OR an approved ASCP discipline (30 semester hours in biology and chemistry, which may be obtained within, or in addition to, the Bachelor's).
• ASCP or another accrediting agency certified or eligible (Certification must be obtained within one year of employment).
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
