About The Position

This position is located at Miami Valley Hospital's Free Standing Emergency Department in Jamestown, OH. It is a part-time role with an evening shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, including a rotation for weekends and holidays. The role involves performing laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and reporting results. The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician will also address client inquiries, participate in training, and adhere to company policies.

Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Science (MLT/MLS/CLS).
• ASCP or AMT certification (or eligible) or comparable required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tests in an accurate and efficient manner following established policies and procedures.
• Perform and record daily and/or routine maintenance and quality control on all equipment or reagents used for testing.
• Recognize problems with instruments, reagents, test results and/or supplies and initiates problem solving procedures.
• Record all results in an accurate, complete and readable format, utilizes computer systems correctly to generate results and notifies clients appropriately of panic value results.
• Address client related questions and problems in a courteous and efficient manner, following department policies and procedures.
• Participate in training of new employees and students in appropriate technical areas.
• Comply with all corporate integrity and safety policies of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories.
• Contribute to the overall effectiveness of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories by performing other duties as required.
