About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Technician to perform the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of laboratory testing. The role follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory requirements are met. The employee serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel, collaborates with departments across the enterprise, and uses critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Other related duties may be assigned. The position has varied 10-hour shifts. Scheduled weekly hours are listed as 0. The salary range is $25–$44, and a sign-on bonus is available.

Requirements

Associate degree in Laboratory Science for the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) role.
Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science for the Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) role.
National certification as an MLT, MLS, or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services agency, such as ASCP, or eligibility to obtain registry certification.
Registry-eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment.
For work in North Dakota, a license or provisional license from the North Dakota Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice is required.
Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to state requirements for applicable licenses and certifications.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
