About The Position

This PRN Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician role provides flexible part time hours of approximately 6 to 8 hours per week. You will perform laboratory testing that supports diagnosis and treatment while ensuring accuracy, quality, and collaboration with the care team. Sheridan Community Hospital is a 22-bed critical access hospital serving Montcalm County and surrounding communities. Requirements

Associate or higher degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
Certification ASCP AMT or equivalent within 12 months of hire
Three months of documented, full-time experience in blood banking and microbiology (Required)
Associate’s degree or higher in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science program and/or a Bachelor’s degree or higher in another related science (chemistry, hematology, biology, immunology, etc.)

Nice To Haves

Prior laboratory experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and independent work ability
Three months of documented, full-time experience in chemistry and hematology (Preferred)
At least one year of previous clinical laboratory experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Perform lab testing across core areas including chemistry, hematology, and urinalysis
Collect and process specimens including phlebotomy
Ensure accurate and timely results with quality control standards
Communicate critical results with providers and nursing staff
Support lab operations and equipment maintenance
