About The Position
Responsible for analyzing, evaluating and interpreting various specimens for the detection, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions.
Requirements
- An associate’s degree in medical lab Technology
- A minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent
- ASCP or NCA certification
Responsibilities
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of patient specimens according to established procedures.
- Perform specimen collection and other specimen handling duties as needed.
- Operate complex biomedical electronic instrumentation including calibration, maintenance, quality assurance and troubleshooting.
- Perform and analyze quality control procedures including daily testing, recording, problem resolution and compiling reports to assure accuracy of all results.
- Review and verify the accuracy of tests results before entering into information system.
- Investigate unusual test results and report clinically significant information appropriately.
- Interpret results when requested.
- Maintain a proper inventory of supplies needed in order to provide continuous service, minimizing downtime.
- Assist in instructing new employees to learn established lab procedures and practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of specialty by attending seminars, in-services and reading journals.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
