About The Position

As the Medical Laboratory Scientist III, you perform routine and complex analytical procedures, recognize deviations, and provide interpretation. You serve as a resource with advanced technical knowledge and skills. The position is at Monroe Regional Hospital in the Laboratory department and is scheduled for 40 hours per week on day shifts. External candidates may qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 in exchange for a two-year commitment. The position summary describes the general nature and level of work and is not exhaustive.

Requirements

• Doctoral, master's, or bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; or transcripts showing 60 semester hours from an accredited institution, including 24 semester hours of medical technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses (6 semester hours in chemistry, 6 in biology, and 12 in chemistry, biology, or medical technology in any combination); or meet an alternate qualification route for Testing Personnel for High Complexity Testing as detailed in §493.1489.
• 2 years of clinical experience.
• American Society of Pathology (ASCP) MLS or Categorical certification.

Nice To Haves

• 4 years of clinical experience in a specialty area to qualify as a Technical Supervisor as detailed in §493.1449.
