About The Position

Baptist Health is hiring a part-time Medical Laboratory Scientist to work at Baptist ED Town Center in Jacksonville, Florida. The position is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The scientist works with a small team of two other Medical Technologists and may rotate through different laboratory areas to develop skills in each specialty. The role is supervised by the Director and Section Supervisors, but the scientist can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision.

Requirements

• Associate's degree required.
• Valid Florida Medical Technologist license required.
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician required.
• Experience requirements are listed as 3–5 years of clinical laboratory experience and less than one year of Medical Technologist experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT) preferred.
• Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical, specimen collection and processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in applicable laboratory areas.
• Maintain expertise in assigned laboratory areas.
• Maintain performance records as defined in SOP manuals.
• Supervise MLTs as General Supervisor.
• Serve as Charge Technologist when other lab supervisors or Medical Technologists are absent.
• May instruct new employees and students.
