Requirements

  • Associates General
  • MLT(ASCP) - Medical Laboratory Technician or MLT(AAB) - Medical Laboratory Technician or MT(AAB) - Medical Technologist or MT(HEW) - Medical Technologist or MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist
  • CLT (NCA) Upon Hire Required
  • Extensive organizational skills
  • Basic computer knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year in a CLIA accredited laboratory
  • Experience in using epic, any LIS, Microsoft software, Outlook, Remisol, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for performing a variety of qualitative and quantitative laboratory tests, both manual and automated, of varying complexity to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • Responsibility for documentation of all activities, monitoring supplies; compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements related to safety and laboratory testing; face to face and telephone customer service; computer data entry and retrieval; workplace cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Analyzes patient samples and evaluates the reliability of test results according to age, gender, and specimen acceptability criteria prior to releasing information for use in patient care and treatment.
  • Performs calibration procedures, and analyzes and verifies the acceptability of Quality Control values prior to analyzing patient samples.
  • Participates in assigned proficiency surveys, performance improvement activities, and mandatory continuing education programs.
  • Performs and documents routine maintenance and minor instrument repairs.
  • Performs Laboratory and Hospital Information Systems (LIS and HIS) computer functions involved in preanalytic, analytic, and postanalytic processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
