About The Position
A leading healthcare organization is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Lab Technician (MLT) to join their clinical laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in hospital lab settings and be comfortable working across multiple departments independently after training.
Requirements
- Minimum 1+ year of experience as a Medical Lab Technician
- Prior experience in a hospital-based clinical laboratory required
- Experience with Cerner charting system required
- Ability to work at multiple locations (floating required)
- Availability for weekend rotation (every 3rd weekend)
- Certifications: ASCP-MLS / ASCP-MLT / MT (Required)
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Technology
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate laboratory testing and ensure timely reporting of results
- Collect, process, and handle patient specimens
- Conduct testing in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and blood bank
- Perform blood bank procedures including ABO/Rh typing, crossmatching, antibody screening, and transfusion workups
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analyzers
- Document and report test results using electronic medical records (Cerner system)
- Follow quality control procedures and adhere to laboratory protocols
- Float between multiple facilities as required
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to support patient care
- Work independently across all lab departments after training
