About The Position

The Medical Lab Technician performs moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing on blood and body fluid specimens. The role also carries out quality control, instrument function checks, and preventative maintenance in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, and teaches new employees laboratory policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Certification from an accredited college or university in Medical Laboratory Sciences or in a biological or chemical science.
• For a biological or chemical sciences degree, laboratory training through an accredited laboratory school is also required.
• Eligible for registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT, ASCP), Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT, NCA), or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience preferred.
