About The Position

This is a full-time position on the first shift at the AAMC Lab. The role requires attention to detail, analytical skills for specimen handling, and effective communication with medical professionals.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution OR Official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and holds/held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist.
• MLT: ASCP registered or eligible.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
• Analytical skills necessary in order to determine proper specimen container and storage.
• Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with physicians and various other personnel.
• Walking or standing up to eighty percent of the work time.
• Subject to frequent changes in priority of duties throughout the day.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
• Occasional exposure to hazardous materials.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions, either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis.
