About The Position

Louisiana Delta Community College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for the Medical Lab Technician program within the Nursing, Allied Health & Safety department. This unclassified position involves providing classroom and laboratory instruction in core medical laboratory disciplines. The instructor will be responsible for identifying student learning outcomes, developing assessment methods, and improving instruction based on assessment results in collaboration with colleagues. The role requires a commitment to student success and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Sciences or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• Professional experience working in medical laboratory settings, demonstrating expertise across core disciplines such as clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, and blood banking.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Proficiency in utilizing instructional technologies and software to enhance the teaching and learning environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively engage and support students from diverse backgrounds.
• Clear dedication to student success and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and industry partners to promote program excellence and student achievement.
• Proven commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning within the field of medical lab sciences.
• Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience at the post-secondary level, particularly within a community college or similar educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and laboratory instruction in the fields of clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, and blood banking.
• May teach up to 12 credit hours / semester and up to six credit hours during the summer.
• Identify student learning outcomes; develop processes and tools for assessment; incorporate results to modify and improve instruction and materials in coordination with colleagues.
