This role, under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Manager or Laboratory Director, permits the Medical Laboratory Technician to perform tests requiring limited skill and responsibility and exercise independent judgment minimally, as competency is demonstrated. The Medical Laboratory Technician will maintain acceptable accuracy in patient, quality assurance, proficiency and competency testing. They will use clinical/theoretical knowledge to analyze, investigate, interpret and report lab data. They will also maintain current personal training, education and practice of policies and procedures, and practice organizational skills for efficient use of time, materials, cost and availability of lab data. Communication is key, practicing information monitoring, investigation, resolution and hand-off to team members. Performs other duties as assigned.
