Requirements
- Able to utilize analyzers and computer proficiency preferred.
- Six months of experience in a laboratory environment.
- Two year Medical Lab Technician Program/Associates Degree.
- MLT (ASCP) license

Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests and quality control procedures in assigned areas.
- Departmentalized technicians will have increased technical responsibility in areas of specialization.
- Assess and report acceptable results.
- Troubleshoot and document problems and out-of-control results to level of capability.
- Notify supervisor of problems.
- Perform and document routine and monthly maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
- Notify supervisor of operational difficulties.
- Maintain inventory sheets in assigned areas and notify coordinator of needs.
- Assist in training students and new employees.
- Operate computer including all routines dealing with patient data and quality control.
- Perform phlebotomies as requested.
- Maintain laboratory work areas in a clean and safe manner.
- Attend laboratory meetings.
- Attend in service education meetings and educational seminars as requested and other duties as needed.
