About The Position

Performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in one or more laboratory sections. This is an onsite, full-time position at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital Broomfield Hospital in Broomfield, Colorado, in the BF Laboratory department. The schedule is days, and the listed pay range is $33.82–$50.73 per hour, dependent on relevant experience. The role includes diagnostic and analytic testing, interpreting and reporting results, quality control, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, and compliance with good laboratory practices and regulatory requirements. The employee may also complete assigned projects and serve as a resource to laboratory and clinical staff. The position requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and the ability to take appropriate action in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT), or as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/sub-specialty applicable to job responsibilities.
State licensure if required by law.
Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic and analytic testing of specimens.
Interpret, document, and report test results.
Perform quality control testing, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Comply with good laboratory practice and regulatory requirements.
Perform projects as assigned.
Serve as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed.
Apply critical thinking and decisive judgment, work with minimal supervision, and take appropriate action in a fast-paced environment.
