Vitalant is currently hiring for a Medical Lab Scientist/Medical Lab Generalist for their Blood Reference Laboratory located in Rosemont, IL. Vitalant provides blood and special services to patients in more than 900 hospitals across the U.S. and hosts approximately 60,000 blood drives annually.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a CLIA approved program (Biology, chemistry, medical science etc.) required. no experience required. (for Medical Lab Generalist)
- Bachelor's degree in medical Lab Science or MLS certification required. (for Medical Lab Scientist I)
- MLS/BB certification required. 2 years in a clinical laboratory setting required. (for Medical Lab Scientist II)
- MLS/BB certification required. 3 years lab experience with 1-year IRL required. 2 years lead/charge experience required. (for Medical Lab Scientist III)
Nice To Haves
- SBB certification preferred. (for Medical Lab Scientist III)
Responsibilities
- Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and cross match.
- Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, participate in quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.
