Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB from an accredited agency or CLIA equivalent for high complexity testing required.
• State licensure as required by regulations.
• Minimum two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or Blood Banking certification required.
• 1 years of relevant laboratory experience meeting state Clinical Lab Scientist requirements and certification (for MLS I).
• MLS/BB certification required (for MLS II).
• 2 years in a clinical laboratory setting required (for MLS II).

Responsibilities

• Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and cross match.
• Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
• Review and report test results, participate in investigative studies, participate in quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.
