Requirements

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or clinical laboratory science required.
Certification as a Medical Technologist/MLS/BB from an accredited agency or CLIA equivalent for high complexity testing required.
State licensure as required by regulations.
Minimum two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or Blood Banking certification required.
1 year of relevant laboratory experience meeting state Clinical Lab Scientist requirements and certification (for MLS I).
MLS/BB certification required (for MLS II).
2 years in a clinical laboratory setting required (for MLS II).

Responsibilities

Perform high complexity testing in immunohematology, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and cross match.
Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
Review and report test results.
Participate in investigative studies.
Participate in quality control, preventative maintenance, and validations.
