About The Position

Medical Lab Scientists and Medical Lab Technicians perform laboratory procedures using established and approved protocols that require independent judgment and responsibility, with minimal technical supervision. The laboratory professional is responsible for quality control, instrument maintenance, and specimen procurement and processing. Other duties may be assigned. This position is onsite at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, on the first shift.

Requirements

• Medical Lab Scientist: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related science, required within 60 days of hire.
• Medical Lab Scientist: MLS certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent, required within 6 months of hire.
• Medical Lab Technician: Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology, including an internship at an affiliated laboratory from an accredited institution, required within 60 days of hire.
• Medical Lab Technician: MLT (ASCP) certification, required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures using established and approved protocols.
• Exercise independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision.
• Perform quality control and instrument maintenance.
• Procure and process specimens.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
