About The Position
Texas Health Denton is seeking a passionate Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join their team on a PRN basis. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity of specimens, managing laboratory operations, and maintaining professional accountability. The Medical Laboratory Scientist will perform various test procedures, adhere to quality control and documentation standards, and uphold safety protocols within the laboratory. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science is highly preferred and is required to be obtained within 3 months of hire. (Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required. CLIAFE). (Individuals hired as a CLS II prior to January 3, 2010 will be grandfathered to the MLS position with existing education.)
- Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program is required.
- MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist, a MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist, or AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology is required within 6 months of hire.
- Or a M(ASCP) - Microbiology if working in Microbiology is required within 6 months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Two (2) years of experience in a clinical Medical Laboratory is preferred.
