Medical Lab Scientist II
About The Position
Vitalant is hiring a Medical Lab Scientist for its high-complexity testing reference laboratory in Tempe, Arizona. The role performs high-complexity immunohematology testing and provides technical support to hospital transfusion services. The position operates in a highly regulated environment and supports Vitalant’s mission to provide vital clinical services and advance blood safety. For the Medical Lab Scientist II level, MLS/BB certification and two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting are required. The stated pay range for this level is $35.89–$37.00 per hour. The role is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- MLS/BB certification is required for the Medical Lab Scientist II level.
- Two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting is required for the Medical Lab Scientist II level.
- State licensure is required where required by regulations.
Nice To Haves
- SBB certification is preferred for the Medical Lab Scientist III level.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-complexity immunohematology testing, including antibody identification, antigen typing, absorptions, elution, and crossmatching.
- Provide technical support to hospital transfusion services.
