About The Position

The Medical Lab Scientist I performs laboratory tests and analyses to assist in diagnosing and treating patients. The role performs clinical testing in at least two of the following departments: Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology. Team members working second or third shifts must be competent in all of these areas. The Medical Lab Scientist I operates laboratory equipment, prepares specimens, and ensures the accuracy and reliability of test results. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, or Biological Science; alternatively, a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution that includes or is accompanied by the required medical laboratory or biological sciences coursework and laboratory training and/or equivalent experience as defined in 42 CFR §493.1423 for personnel performing high-complexity testing.
Certification as a Medical Lab Scientist, or eligibility to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment.
Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work different shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemical, or Biological Science.

Responsibilities
