Under minimal supervision, independently performs, authenticates and reports all tests analyses according to laboratory policies and procedures. Performs required Quality Control and maintenance to ensure valid and accurate test results. Records and maintains appropriate documentation to support pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing components. Identifies and resolves problems with test analysis and consults with the supervisors, Director of Laboratory Administration, or the Director of Services when appropriate and according to established protocol. Facilitates quality patient care outcomes in a timely manner. Employees in this role must sit for the MLS(ASCP) certification exam within 3 months of graduating their MLS program or within 3 months of hire date, whichever is applicable to the employee's situation. This position shall be vacated within 3 months of attaining MLS(ASCP) certification. Additionally, if the employee is unable to obtain MLS(ASCP) certification, the position shall be vacated within 12 months of first exam attempt.
